When Quinlyn closed her eyes and imagined her heart's one true wish, she dreamed of fun without limits. Unrestricted, no ifs, ands, or buts fun under the Hawaiian sun, surrounded by her family.
"I think wishes are important because they're a chance that you actually get to be free in time, and you deserve it cause you've been through a lot, " said Quinlyn.
The 9-year-old, from Vancouver, is battling leukemia. A relentless battle with cancer that's lasted a long time.
"It's not fun, I'm on the last stage technically, but when I'm done with this stage, I'm doing a thing where you get a poke every year," she added. "I wished to go to Hawaii because my sister told me I had to spend it in a good way, and I wanted my family to enjoy it too."
But, Quinlyn didn't want to just go to Hawaii, she wanted to experience the royal treatment at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa. Thank to our generous supporters, like you, her wish came true.
"I wished to be treated like a princess, and I really felt like a princess because everyone was always evolving around me," said Quinlyn.
"I got to do two makeovers. First, they put little buns on top of my hair, with flowers, and grabbed sparkles and put them in my hair. The next, was a Moana makeover and I got to see Moana and it was really fun."
Quinlyn and her family spent the week swimming, eating amazing food, and relaxing. A perfect escape for Quinlyn, that renewed hope.
"I didn't have to worry that I would always get a poke or something, so it was relieving," said Quinlyn. "I think I will remember that time as a beautiful time, it was just the best, and the time to be free."
