People often ask us what wish kids are like...
Wish kids are silly, smart, sweet-spirited children who see the good in everything, despite a daily battle with a critical illness.
Wish kids go to school, play sports and attend community events all while balancing doctors visits and treatment. Wish kids are resilient, they are fearless, they are faces of courage in our community.
Many wish kids go on to fight their critical illness and win, and a wish often marks a turning point in that fight.
Our 2018 Make-A-Wish® Oregon Wish Ambassadors are an inspiration to us all. Brenna, Chloe, Damian, Isa, Liam, Matthew, Mimms and Winston want to Wish It Forward to other local families by raising awareness.
A wish enables kids to dream about things that seem unobtainable, creating an experience of achieving the impossible. If the impossible can happen once, kids can believe in their ability to live with or even overcome their illness.
That is why wishes matter. That is why we grant wishes. We believe a wish experience can be a game-changer.
