Evil aliens invade a Beaverton business and the only one who can stop them is 8-year-old Bryan. Without hesitation, Bryan puts on his Omnitrix watch, which magically turns him into “Bryan 10.” Then it’s off to challenge the enemies in a laser duel. The vanquished will leave Earth peacefully.
This was the scene just days before Bryan’s 9th birthday, when he got his wish to have a birthday party in the theme of his favorite Cartoon Network series, Ben 10, a franchise about a boy who finds a watch-like device that allows him to turn into alien creatures. His Make-A-Wish® volunteers worked hard to create a unique experience for him that included characters from the cartoon show, including Grandpa Max, the “Rustbucket” RV and his buddy Kevin.
With the scene and cast set, it’s now up to Bryan and 25 of his bravest friends to work together to fight the monsters: an armored silver-back gorilla, a flying lizard and a horned alien. Two rounds of laser tag later, “Bryan 10” and his mighty crew proved victorious. Earth is saved!
Bryan’s mom, Gabriela, says he loved it and was happy for days after the party. She says, “It made me so happy to see him enjoying himself after suffering so much through treatment. He was so sick and had been through so much.”
When asked about how it felt to play Kevin, Make-A-Wish volunteer and Junior Board member, Andrew O’Neal shared, “It was an amazing experience to help out with Bryan’s wish by dressing up as Kevin from the cartoon show Ben 10. Bryan and his friends and family were truly captivated by the production and loved playing along… you could really tell as they gave it their all to fight off the alien attack during laser tag. All in all, everyone had a fun time, and Bryan had a great experience that he will remember forever.”
