Hula dancing on the beach.
Kissing a dolphin.
Eating all the gelato her little tummy can hold.
These are just some of the memories that 6-year-old Scarlet made during her wish trip to Hawaii thanks to Make-A-Wish® Oregon supporters like you. She and her family enjoyed five days on the Big Island, where they also got to kayak, snorkel and swim in the warm ocean water.
Her mom said Scarlet spent almost every waking moment either in the ocean or in the pool. “What a treat,” said her mom. “We really enjoyed spending time together as a family without the stress of treatment schedules or appointments.”
Despite cancer, Scarlet is an active girl who loves to ride her bike, golf, listen to 50s beach party music and eat seafood. Her wish to go to Hawaii gave her a chance to enjoy all these things and spend quality time with her family. Even at this young of an age, Scarlet realizes how special that time was. In a hand-written thank you note she sent to the Make-A-Wish Oregon office, Scarlet wrote that her trip was awesome and that she loved “all of it.”
