Make-A-Wish Oregon is proud to partner with COUNTRY® Financial to help grant local wishes. The company recently sponsored the chapter’s annual Waffles & Wishes event and made a wish come true for local wish kid Holly, age 5, who wished to go on a Caribbean cruise. On the first day of her wish, Holly was picked up bright and early at 4:30 a.m. to start on her magical wish experience by a limo to transport her family and her to the airport. Once arriving in sunny Florida, they boarded the Freedom of the Seas cruise ship that had its own ice-skating rink, rock climbing wall, and even a Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream shop! They stopped at several different ports along the Caribbean including Cococay, Bahamas; Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas; and Philipsburg, St. Maarten.
In April 2014, COUNTRY Financial also took part in the annual Walk For Wishes event in Salem , Oregon and helped the chapter raise more than $65,000. Their team had a blast at the event - getting to know our attendees and making wishes come true.
When asked about their involvement, Tim Harris from COUNTRY Financial shared, “The Make-A-Wish mission is extremely important to everyone at COUNTRY Financial. Being a game changer and providing inspiration and hope to kids in a time of medical crisis is the most noble act of kindness. At COUNTRY our goal is similar. We aspire to be a game changer in the realm of providing financial security by educating our clients about insurance and investment options that are tailored to what is best for their personal situation. We can’t think of a better organization then Make-A-Wish to invest our resources in as they actually make the wishes of young people come true.”
We are able to bring hope, strength and joy to kids like Holly because of generous corporate partners like COUNTRY Financial. If you’d like to learn more about getting your company involved with Make-A-Wish Oregon, please contact Carynne Drake, corporate alliances manager, at 503-802-7846.
