The Central Oregon community opened their hearts once again to local children at the 13th Annual Make-A-Wish® Radiothon, presented by Horizon Broadcasting Group and hosted by Subaru of Bend. The event, which took place February 27 and 28, 2014, raised more than $25,000 and 82,000 frequent flier miles that will help grant wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions in Central Oregon.
The two-day Make-A-Wish Radiothon aired on 105.7 KQAK, THE PEAK 104.1 and LITE 95.7 with on-air personalities Dave Clemens, Robin Fox, Donna Britt and Jeffrey Brian Nelson at the helm. The event featured more than a dozen wish families, volunteers and supporters, including wish child Kynzie who celebrated her seventh birthday live on the radio with a chocolate cupcake. Kynzie had her wish to go to Walt Disney World® Resort granted last March, where she met all her favorite princesses.
A group of students from St. Francis Catholic School, led by wish kids Isabella and Jesse, also stopped by to deliver the $350 that they raised for Make-A-Wish Oregon.
A special thanks to all the volunteers who gave up their time to answer the phones. We can’t do what we do each and every day without you’re your dedication and positive energy. We would also like to thank Matt Thomas and his team at Subaru of Bend for hosting us again this year and for providing us with support.
